Coaches not very convinced about Ganguly's coaching prospect

Kolkata: Amid speculations over Sourav Ganguly being a part of the BCCI advisory committee, his former coaches feel that Ganguly should not be too ambitious about a coaching job.

Interacting with the reporters at the launch of Saptarshi Sarkar's new book 'Sourav Ganguly: CRICKET, Captaincy and controversy' at a city bookstore on Monday, former Ranji Trophy CRICKETER Gopal Bose made it clear that the former India captain should not be eyeing a big role in CRICKETadministration. "If you are an official then your toes are always on the line. There a few parameters, crossing which may lead you into trouble. Ganguly should stay away from all that," Bose said.

Bose, who has played for India in an unofficial Test, is also not very convinced on whether Ganguly will make a very good coach. "Not every good player is a good coach. Sourav is a legendary CRICKETER, but I am not very sure whether he will recreate the same magic if he ever becomes the coach," Bose added.

Echoing Bose's view, former BCCI match referee Raju Mukherjee too felt that coming into full fledged cricket administration  may not be that fruitful for Ganguly. "He is someone who would never compromise on anything. And that's why it may not be that good," Mukherjee felt.

In the last few years, a lot has been written on Ganguly, but author Sarkar claims that he has tried portraying Ganguly the cricketer in a new way. "I have analysed a few areas which have never been written about before," Sarkar claimed.
